Training and Employment

Welcome to Hull and East Yorkshire Mind's Training and Employment page. Find information about our vocational support services and our specialist training on this page.

Vocational Support

Initial Steps, Forward Thinking and Pathways to Work all offer exciting different methods of support. A short term support option, Initial Steps, offers a 6-week programme aimed at people who are furthest away from being job ready.

For people that are more interested in learning how to more effectively and actively find employment, Pathways to Work is HEY Mind’s specialist service. This is aimed at people who are experiencing poor mental health and claiming Incapacity Benefits/Employment Support Allowance.

Forward Thinking offers a comprehensive range of vocational support including personal development courses, condition management, computerised CBT and work tasters/placements.

Finally, the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme is aimed at helping people deal with depression and anxiety disorders in work. All projects offer specialist 1-to-1 support.

Training

Hull and East Yorkshire Mind has it's own training arm, MindWorks, that can offer a whole range of training services for organisations and communities alike.

MindWorks delivers Understanding Mental Health Conditions for organisations who deal with a large amount of different people on a daily basis. The Stress Management in the Workplace training course is aimed at businesses looking to help staff beat the credit crunch blues and decrease absenteeism. Along with the away day training courses, MindWorks can tailor and deliver bespoke training packages at competitive prices.

Mindworks also run FREE personal development courses in Goole, Bridlington and Withernsea for people of the local community. Visit www.mindworkstraining.co.uk for more details on all courses!
