"I joined PACE at the Green Project in March 2009, after three years of unemployment and isolation due to a severe anxiety disorder, and I can honestly say that it has been one of the most important steps I have taken on my road to recovery.
The Project provides a relaxed environment, in which you work alongside friendly people from all sorts of backgrounds, on tasks that give you a real sense of achievement. It’s immensely satisfying to look back at the end of a day and see the progress you’ve made clearing ground for a new vegetable patch, or planting trees for an area of native woodland. Much is said of the sense of well being fostered from working close to nature and it really is true.
The farm is steadily evolving; we have recently constructed a pond and installed some bee hives. There are many other plans to develop the farm in the coming months and it is an exciting time to be involved. I would recommend the project to anyone looking to make a positive change in their life."
