About us
Hull & East Yorkshire Mind was founded in 1976 and has over 30 years experience in providing mental health services to people in Hull and East Yorkshire.
The organisation is a registered charity, and a company limited by guarantee. It is affiliated to National Mind in London through an affiliation agreement, but receives no income in support of its operations from National Mind. Although an independent, autonomous organisation, Hull & East Yorkshire Mind is one of over 200 Local Mind Associations that have agreed to support the mission and values of National Mind and strive to reflect them in its governing documents and its work.
Hull & East Yorkshire Mind has an Executive Committee of up to 15 members. The Trustees hold the ultimate responsibility for the performance of the charity. The Trustees are volunteers, who bring a variety of skills to the organisation. They work as a team to oversee the management and running of the charity to make sure the charity stays solvent and is doing the things it was set up to do.

Aims and Objectives
The Objects (Purpose) of the Organisation
The objects of the Charity as stated in its Memorandum and Articles, amended October 2006 are as follows:

To promote the preservation of mental health within the community by the advancement of education and the provision of facilities and services for social welfare, personal development, recreation, and social inclusion, being non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion, without distinction of race, gender or sexuality.

To assist in relieving and rehabilitating vulnerable persons suffering from mental disorder or conditions of emotional or mental distress requiring advice or treatment.
The Aims of the Charity
The Charity has adopted four key aims in order to deliver its objects:

- To campaign on mental health issues
- To provide quality services
- To challenge inequality
